About the Chef
Chef and owner George "Rob" Robinson brings the experience and background needed to provide you with an exceptional dining experience, having cooked for some of the country’s top chefs and having had an extremely successful career in fine dining. His cuisine has been recognized by the Washington Post, Food and Wine Magazine, Taste of Charlotte, Sante and Culinary Trends magazines, and he was invited to the James Beard House and prepared the dinner there in March of 2005. He is no stranger to authentic Mexican food. He lived in Northern California for 5 years and has traveled in Mexico and Baja California. At his side is accomplished Chef Ralf Lang, who was born in Argentina and lived in Mexico City for 14 years. Ralf's hands on understanding of the culture and cuisine enhances every aspect of the Bad Bean experience! When deciding to open a family-friendly and more casual restaurant, Rob knew that the delicious food that he enjoyed eating while living and working in Northern California was just the change he was looking for.

The Bad Bean is located at the south entrance of Timbuck II shopping center in Corolla, Outer Banks directly off of Hwy. 12. The south entrance is located directly across from Buck Island subdivision. The Bad Bean is in the back corner of the south building of Timbuck II next to Giant Slice Pizza shop.

The Bad Bean in Kill Devil Hills is located at MP 5 in the Seagate North Shopping Center, right off The Bypass, Hwy. 12. The Bad Bean is in the back left corner of the shopping center, in the former location of Saltwater's Grill.
